2010 Show “Compassion”

Our 2010 Theme was “Compassion”

Olive Tree Arts, a ministry of Christian Fellowship Church invited all area artists to thematically explore the visual and spiritual richness of the biblical narrative through the Biblical theme of “Compassion”

com•pas•sion (kem-pa-shen) n. A deep feeling of sharing the suffering of another; to sympathize. syn: tenderness, kindness, mercy, pity, condolence, commiseration.

It is out of compassion that flows mercy, forgiveness, justice, and healing.

The Bible is laced with images, examples, statements, and metaphors about compassion. Olive Tree Arts invited area artists to create new works of art inspired by these Biblical depictions of COMPASSION. As part of the submission, each artist selected a passage of scripture that depicted compassion, and which served as the inspiration for his or her artwork.
